In his new role, Mike will be responsible for spearheading Honeywell UOP business in India to sustain the growth in the region and continue to build upon UOP's work in developing and licensing process technologies used in refining, petrochemicals and renewable fuels.

Vikas Chadha, president, Honeywell India, said, “Mike brings an extensive technology and managerial experience in natural gas, petrochemical, and renewable gas industries, critical to help address the unique needs of our customers in India. Honeywell UOP has enjoyed a strong market position and brand equity for more than 80 years in the country, and we are confident that Mike’s appointment will enable us to drive sustained growth for the business in an important Honeywell market.

With more than 25 years of experience, Mike is an industry veteran who joined Honeywell UOP in 1990 as a development engineer. He brings diversified experience in technical services of field operations and has worked in several countries including India, China and far east regional service groups. Mike’s vast experience will help UOP to further strengthen its business in India as the country is undergoing a paradigm shift towards a clean fuel regime.

“I am looking forward to my new role to drive the business forward in India and achieve sustainable growth, as we continue to invest in new technologies,” Banach said. “India is among our top high-growth regions globally and we see opportunities in the refining and petrochemical sectors due to the opportunities laid by the Indian government in BS- VI fuel transformation.”

Banach earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA degree from the University of Chicago. He succeeds Steve Gimre, who served as regional general manager – Honeywell UOP India from 2014 until this month.
